Who is planning to get a “Final V8” car?
Anybody like me and trying to decide on which car to get that has a proper sounding V8 just to have that driving experience before things go all EV in next decade and gas prices shoot through the roof. I think prices of desirable V8 cars will also see a huge spike.
Personally i have never owned any V8 vehicle. Most of my cars have been BMWs with the inline 6. Unfortunately the market for new V8 manual cars is nonexistent except for the American pony cars which lack significantly in quality and fit/finish that I have come to expect. Some cars to consider for under $100k: - E92 M3 - M6 / M8 - GT350 / 350R - older Ferraris (360 Modena) - Jag Ftype - Lexus LC500 - Merc AMG-GT - Maserati GranTurismo - Audi R8 - AM V8 Vantage - C7/C8 Vette

Eh, V8 is fun for the roar but I'm trying to up my game to V10 or V12 as I progress in my career. Hearing an NA V12 and how it resonated really hit me in the moment.

If you're on a budget a base S550 Mustang GT isn't a bad option.

Huracan would be the perfect option but you’re talking about over $200k for decent one used. The two greatest V10s are the LFA and Carrera GT. V12 cars - leaves you at Lambo or Ferrari. The ones that have them are more GT cars, unless you can swing Aventador. Other option is Aston Martin. |

Planning to trade my F80 comp in for the new Lexus IS500
I realized I don't really need top shelf track performance and would prefer a more subdued car with a killer V8. |

If I catch your drift here, the main objective is to get a truly special V8 (ie the motor) as a priority. If so, I gotta go with the Shelby GT350 and the E9x M3 here, although they're not necessarily perfect cars.
Maybe the F355 but few people have the stomach to own that car. The AMG's are not my cup of tea but some people consider those motors special, and fair enough if you do. At a higher price point there's the 458 Italia and 430 Scud. |

Might attempt to get a nice E90 M3 with manual gearbox, have been keeping my eyes open. I'd be missing an E46 but they are getting harder to find in good shape with lower miles.

I already have one and highly recommend them, interior quality issues aside there is very little that can keep up with a SS, zl1, c7 or GT/350 with a blower.
Since BMW is incredibly hostile to mods now it makes sense to go elsewhere if you want a something affordable and fun that puts down monster power on pump gas and can also handle like a champ. $50K for 700+ at the wheels with magneride and steering that makes most of bmws current catalog feel like a civic is an amazing bargain tbh |
