Suspension Question

I'm new to the E46. I have been in love with it ever since my brother bought one new back in 2006. When I picked mine up last week I was just amazed at how well it drove. It feels so good.

I took the wheels off to give them a cleaning, and to my surprise, the bump stops were hanging off, and the shock boot is entirely missing for all of them. The car has 136,000 miles on it, so it could probably stand to have them replaced with OEM parts at the very least.

The natural thought process for me, is that this is an excuse to buy coilovers. lol. So I come here, to ask the folks who have more experience with the car than I do...

I love the way the car feels now, and I can only imagine how good it will feel if shocks/springs were new. The car is comfortable, but firm. It's not bouncy. I don't want to lose that, so I'm leaning towards OEM, but if you guys have suggestions I could look into that would be great.

Just go with a good Bilstein setup. Back in the day (...circa 2002-2005) I ran TEIN and Ground Control coilovers in my E46 M3's.

I was surprised to find new CSL suspension front/back for $800. insane. I'll probably just go that route. OEM, but better.

As another poster above said, I too have Ground Control street/school c/o setup in my e46. I actually found this thread from your posts on M2C section of the M2 page - I also have a '20 M2C. In comparing the 2 cars, they are so similar yet so very different (as you likely already know) - and both awesome in their own way.
