2004 M3 pricing
Looking at a 2004 M3 6mt black on black with 45k miles on it. Excellent condition. BBS LMs dropped on KW V2s. Sport package, hk package. No nav. What is a realistic value of this?

Blue book for an M3 with 25k miles was about 24k IIRC. If you added the mods my car had (as your reply suggests), we'd have been looking at low 30's. Since most people don't want to pay extra for mods, most sellers that I run across return the car to stock and part out the mods separately. KBB for M3 with 45,000 miles is in low 20's. I don't think the mods listed justify the pricing you suggest. I think low 20's is probably more reasonable, but I bet the seller is expecting something closer to high 20's. Right so I guess I should ask.... What is a realistic price the owner would settle for

With the new M3 on the horizon, $20,000-$21,000 is the most I would spend. Its about 2 generations back.

Blue book pricing doesn't apply to certain vehicles. It's completely wacky for a lot of desirable sports cars. The E46 M3 is a future classic and it's not far from it.
If the car is completely clean (no wrecks, full service history), I'd say mid 20's for just the car (23-26k). Add 1/4 to 1/2 the new price of the add-ons. If you can get it for under 25k, it's a good deal in my book.
