Hi all,

I am aware that 825 (Left Hooker) M3 CSL's were made, but how many came to the US? Any ever make it to Canada?

Cheers

I don't think if there is any CSL in US. maybe some people imported from Europe but AFAIK BMW didn't bring CSL in US.

That's correct, the CSL was not imported to the US. I know of at least one. I've read about one down around Miami. Here's one that was for sale this summer down in Miami (same one maybe?). Although, I'm not sure if it's a real CSL or just a doctored M3. http://bringatrailer.com/2011/06/04/...03-bmw-m3-csl/

Some discussion here on the outrageous costs and legal hoops necessary to legally import a non-US spec car: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=130441

Oh bollocks! Guess i'll have to move back to Europe then..........

or wait until one is 17 and import with more ease from say Spain, Italy or Germany directly to Canada

I know of 3 different CSL's on the East Coast. I wouldn't be surprised is there's around a half dozen or so...

I could be wrong, but I dont think there are "too many hoops" to get one legal in the states. I know my e46 was purchased in Germany, then the guy moved to France, and then Miami and shipped it here. US did what they did, gave it a US vin and now, oviously, its legal on the streets...

I don't know how different it would be since the CSL is based off a model that sold in the US but I know a ton of Nissan Skylines and GT-R's get impounded here because of one slip up in the paperwork. Make sure every single thing about it is legalized.

There is ONE definitely in the Continental USA and ONE in Puerto Rico I know for sure.

I almost bought the Silver Gray one last year for $60K down in MIA. It was brought to the US through Puerto Rico with another Sapphire Black one.

He had BMW DE send some documents over to him that ultimately resulted (after months at the import dock) in the cars being approved for Puerto Rico and the USA.

I never realized there were that many CSLs in the States! I'm very curious how they were all able to legalize them here...or are they?

I got a CF Airbox and OE CSL Roof, I just need to find a way to afford the door panels and rear seats!!

I wonder how much different it is to import a CSL over a regular M3? Mine is a Euro spec..
