I recently blew a tire at 120mph in my Challenger, driverside front......... not a scratch on me or the Challenger. fate is what I will call it. Same situation with someone else travelling at 30mph..... could be dead. You just never know!!!!

That is what happened in the accident to the driver's friend. Read the entire thread about the second accident and you will see it in print.

I am not here to debate religion ... wrong place ... wrong time ... plus people believe what they want to believe.

All I am saying is that airbags, etc. didn't save the passenger's life and they wouldn't have anyway at 140 mph.

I did read it. You also said in your post "accidents like these" implying all high speed accidents. Most of those accidents had drivers and passengers wearing their seatbelts and they survived just fine without "divine intervention."

Also, his passenger DID survive. Are you sure YOU read the whole article?

If you didn't want religion brought into the discussion you shouldn't have brought it in.

Dude you need to relax. I didn't say the passenger didn't survive. I said an airbag didn't save him. Was there an airbag on the passenger side? 'No' So how could an airbag have saved him? Did a seat belt save him? 'No' He wasn't wearing one.

HE FLEW THROUGH THE FREAKING WINDSHIELD IN A 140 MPH CRASH and from what I can tell based on the thread basically walked away.

Call it luck, call it fate, call it divine intervention, call it whatever you want but it wasn't due to man-made safety devices as you said.

Sorry but that is just not the case.

I've seen a few cars wrapped around poles in my time, and its hard to say that the passenger survived on that one. The story may have been reversed for sensationalism. Then again, the passenger could have squished the driver. Eh, who's knows. There's been weirder.

As for the ejection at 140mph, the centripetal force most likely kept the passenger in the seat(or seat area) until the car slowed, allowing him to be freed from said force and plop through the wind shield.

An odd first post I must add, but this forum is great.

No, the passenger is my best friend and the driver was one of my closest friends at the time. Although the passenger survived he was in the hospital for about a month. Both were wearing their seat belt, and no they were not at fault.
