I did my Toyota All-Trac Turbo at 140 and walked away uninjured... It's a luck thing.

FWIW: I was young and really stupid, I have no excuse for my stupidity, my friend went out the front window, flew about 15', and landed on his butt, uninjured. Luck.

Apparently stupid people are less prone to die in car accidents.

I'll spare the obvious comments about your friends butt. But, that is DAMN luck. You're much more prone to serious injury and death if you fly out of the car vs. staying put. Wear those seatbelts. Especially at 140.

Cheers.

My friend worked as a EMT and he said that drunk people are less prone to die because they dont tense up like most people do before impact, they just go with the crash kind of a rag doll, its weird but apparently when you tense up it fucks you up pretty bad.

I wouldn't call surviving crashes like this luck ... more divine intervention. Not to get on my soapbox but I hope you guys that walked away from these crashes are doing something worthwhile with you lives.

Drunk people fall under stupid in my book.

Working in the pathology field, I have seen the result of plenty of stupid driving, this included drunks, street racing, cell phone usage, etc.

The messed up thing is that he wasn't wearing his seat belt, which is why he went out the front window (never mind he didn't hit his legs/knees on the dash), but if he'd have worn his belt he'd be dead... The passenger side was crushed into the center console. I royally screwed up and was stupid, it was a good life lesson, and I am VERY lucky that I didn't hurt/kill my friend.

My airbag/seat belt saved me from serious facial/body injury (and probably my life)... This was a '93, no passenger airbag. Luck, god, good driving, not our time...

Post accident, like right after, I couldn't figure out why my friend wasn't there. He was in on it (the speeding), but I couldn't have lived with myself if I had hurt someone... Dumb stuff you do at 20.

The immature. It will never end. (I didn't say young people. Just immature.)

Good to know that I have a safe car. Next time I get hit by one of these people, at least I have a decent likelihood of survival.
