Here's my dads E46 M3. 2006 Six speed manual with about 90,000 miles. It's a great car, however I will say that I kinda liked his 1995 E36 M3 a little better. I know not as fast but it felt torquey er at lower rpm's, with heavier and better steering.

He's actually almost due for a new car, only gets a car every 11-12 years, and he's past due because he doesn't wanna change. Can't blame him for that!

Nice E46! Looks like bone stock, you should convince him to keep it, I love the E36 too

Wow. What a collection. I think my favourite is the '05 Individual Stratus Grey with cloth interior, ZCP, 6-speed.

I'd be curious to hear how you find the E46 compared to the E36 and F82.

I've owned an E36 328i (basically stock) for about 8 years, and picked up an M2 Competition last summer. I also own a Cayman GT4, but I continue to fantasize about owning an E36 + E46 M3. Would have purchased an F80 M3 but they were out of production when I was buying and I wanted to ED.

Anyways, lovely collection! <3

thanks! the E46 is an old school car compared to the F82 but that gives you the feeling of being more connected to the car, on the other hand the E46 compared to the E36 is a better car all around, better design, faster and you have more technology at your hands but it is really a matter of taste, for me the best one of all platforms is the E46, this timeless design is a beauty

Makes sense! It sounds like it's kind of the best of both worlds...older, more connected, raw, naturally aspirated...but not TOO old. The Goldilocks of M3's I guess.

I've actually still never driven an E46 M3, but I've driven a friend's Z4M Coupe a whole bunch and love the way it feels.

So, do you have any other sports cars, or just the M3s? Just curious if you've been tempted to try out other brands or even models with such a big collection! I've always been intrigued by the idea of having an E39 M5 or maybe even E60/F90 with a manual for longer trips with a bunch of people, but I don't really have the need or garage space.

I DO wish the E46 M3 came in sedan form from the factory...that'd be the ultimate Goldilocks perfection for me (not in terms of looks necessarily, but practicality)...

i only have bmws M3 / M4, once I finish the collection with the E30 M3 my next goal will be a GT3RS, as per the M5 it is an amazing car but I dont like sedans, only like coupes

Great collection. Been wanting one since 2000. Some day maybe. Is the E30 black or red? I like it in black.

Ever deal with EAG? They always have nice, rare inventory.

The E30 M3 I found is a black one, never have dealt with EAG, their cars are unique but extremely pricey, i prefer to look at other places and have found unique samples as well

I hated them when I looked for my M3. They grabbed like two right underneath me. Seriously, I found a car, start talking to the seller to arrange pickup etc., then got a notice that some company called Enthusiast something sent him a deposit and paid the asking price and came to pickup the car. A couple of weeks later it was on their website for many thousands more, sometimes 10-15k more.

Yes, they do have the best enthusiast inventory and the most expensive too.

Luckily, I found what I wanted, eventually.

Yes they have beautiful samples but there are other nice ones being sold in other places too, just need to be patient and the right one will show up, what color is your M3?

Hahaha that sounds terrible. I was actually looking at a few of their e46s, but like you said, much higher than the normal seller market. But as someone who is not mechanically inclined and want something to be slightly restored, EAG really does provide that service and can't be beat!

Just depends if someone wants to do the hunt with the requisite knowledge or someone that wants a more turned key approach, buying something that is fully vetted.
