e46 m3 iphone 4 adaptor help!

Hi guys, So I bought an e46 M3 a few years back and it came with the iPhone adapter that connects to the back of the nav. It worked ok at first but after an upgrade to my iPhone 4 it won't connect at all anymore. It still charges because of the scosche, but I get no sound. It doesnt recognize it at all. Any ideas?
