Will the Taycan perform the same in 3-5 yrs? I doubt it unless you get a brand new battery.

I wonder if age of battery vs range is more applicable here?
I’m not an expert or any type of electrical engineer but I would think the battery could still perform at peak levels for acceleration with a degraded battery and it would just decrease the overall range. I could be wrong but it seems that would be a major issue for a company like Porsche, not so much for Tesla.

Could you imagine a 5 yr old Taycan and rock out sub 2 sec 0-60 bit only get 150 mile range.... That is what concerns me.

I would love to put one in my garage but the cost and reward isn't there yet for me.

I would love the wagon, but that probably will add an extra $8k to the price and the aerodynamics will suffer and drop the range further.

I think this is a great car to have if you already have a more practical car for road trips (or just don't road trip at all), and don't mind spending $150k+ on a four-door.

Thank you. The 765 is not yet here as I am waiting for the allocation for the Spider. It likely will be summer or fall '21. The 675 is a keeper. I personally think McLaren did it right with the 675.

Battery technology will continue to improve and being an early adopter will come at a potential cost. My Model X had many issues and Tesla had to take it back and give me another one. My Model S had one motor go out at 40k and shortly after that the charge port failed. The Model 3 so far is ok, but it is only 2 yrs old. Only time will provide proper disclosure.

Would you rather buy the Taycan Turbo S or the Lucid Air Dream Edition?

Too many question marks for Lucid to compare the two. I love Lucid but until they have a product on the market it will be hard to judge, and the early days of Tesla were the worst considering repairs, service and customer support, and despite a decade later still suffer from those issues. It will be interesting to see how Lucid (and others like Rivian) will tackle these important issues. The Porsche will likely be more sports car, with the Lucid for comfort and speed (GT) as they have been making comparisons to the S-Class and Model S.

If I ever decide to own a car as big as a Taycan then I may be interested. As it is, I only want to own smaller cars. Also I enjoy the sounds and feelings I get from my cars daily and the insta-torque would not sway me.

When Porsche ends up making an electric or hybrid small sports car I might be interested, though I am not at all a fan of the heavily digital dash or the larger size of the current 911.

The rear end of the Lucid looks soo weird. Like it has a full diaper or something, it just looks bloated and off. Same with the side shot of the front end, that hood line is horrible.

I am in total agreement regarding this though I personally no longer visit the tesla forums because of the cultish fandom that Tesla can do no wrong. I liked Tesla and the cars are ok, but far from acceptable quality. My friends love their Teslas, but they overlook the quality issues for what the cars do. So when it comes to QC, it is highly subjective and will be dependent on owners' acceptance levels.
