By the time I arrived there were three BMW's parked along the west curb line. They were doing a photo shoot. I didn't catch anybody racing.

Boo. Good news (also very bad news) is that the idiots will inevitably do it again. You'll have plenty more chances to catch 'em.

I did end up with another DUI arrest last night though. The driver was passed out in the middle of the street in the #2 eastbound lane.

Damn! I’ve seen videos of it on YouTube, but how do you get so drunk that you pass out while driving?

On this particular industrial street in my patrol area, it is a problem area for drag racing. It's the same street with the prepped surface I posted a photo of a few weeks ago. It's a non-residential business/industrial area and it's the truckers who call in the racers. It's not a street you'd frequent unless you are a street racer/takeover participant (…and it's certainly not a photo shoot worthy location). The entire surface area is full of acceleration and yaw skid marks from drag racing and donuts. The culprits were just done doing their thing before I arrived (….maybe not the three BMW drivers I contacted, per se, but whoever else was there).

It's just sickening - unacceptable violence taking the life of a good cop and messing up his family.
As well as the other innocents - all because of that one bad apple.

Bloody scumbag news reporting it as "GTA style".
