I have had one of these for about 2 weeks. It works great with an iPhone 15 Pro, with 2 MagSafe cases I've tried. The *only* thing- and it's a minor thing- is the top has a bit of a flat top haircut. In other words, the black around the circular magsafe ring isn't uniform in width. You can see this in the seller's pictures. I really like coiling up excess cable in the base of this.

Our USB c connectors are high power in the center console- 60w I think- more than enough power for the magsafe. This lets you charge 2 phones at once. And no excess heat.

*Edit* also I plan on "blackening" the white center of the magsafe charger with a skin- and have bought a matte black and "something dark" skin from dbrand (but haven't gotten them yet).

Great idea to black out the center of the MagSafe puck. I actually don't see or notice the stand and MagSafe most of the time, because my phone is on it. But, it is nice to have the aesthetic perfected.

Sadly this is not the case. The two front ports are low power. The seatback ones are high-power though.

The front 2 give 14.2w each and the rear 4 give 44.4w each.

Remember you can get more power up front with a 12-volt toUSB-C adapter like this: https://a.co/d/1jjJwda

Yes. You’re right that is enough for the current MagSafe. But sometimes I need a quick full charge via a direct USB-C plugin and it’s easier to use a 12-volt adapter rather running a cord from behind the passenger seats like I used to do!!

Thanks guys I ordered an Anker combination lighter 52w usb a and usb c adapter. According to a redit feed on magsafe- you need a 20w power supply to get magsafe to charge at it's maximum of 15w- so if this is right- it does seem it's better to use a lighter adapter

I also ordered black braided sleeving to cover the white wire (links below)

But can you send a photo of the back? The vent blades are super wide on the iX, so I am not sure how you inserted it.
Which model/ref# did you get?
This is the one I got:

Magnetic Car Mount Phone Holder - Mag Safe Air Vent Phone Mount for Car Compatible with iPhone 15 14 13 12 Pro Max Mini Plus, 360° Adjustable Mag Safe Car Mount Phone Holder for All Phone https://a.co/d/4Na7P54

Works great for me and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. I don’t actually want to use wireless charging so it’s fine.

I just finished my magsafe installation in lieu of the wireless Qi charger that came with the iX. You can see it from the pictures- I included links to where I got the adapter in a previous post (from Etsy). I got the shim to cover the white magsafe circle from dbrand.com .

Also- I measured power under various conditions, and found
1. an iPhone 15 Pro at 30% power remaining, charged at
a) 22 watts when plugged in to a cigarette usb adapter,
but only
b) 10 watts when plugged into the USB-c near the cup holders

2. going through the magsafe adapter, it didn't matter if I plugged in
via the Anker cigarette lighter adapter or the BMW USB-c- both drew about 10 watts

3. using an iPad at 15% remaining charge, the USB-c near the cupholders drew 14.6 watts. The same iPad plugged into a the USB-c port on the back of the driver seat drew 35.6 watts.

From all this, my conclusion is, if you want to charge fast, either plug in from the seat back usb-c's or using an adapter. If you're using magsafe- doesn't matter- may as well use the cupholder usb-c.

I'm very happy with the angled slot mount magsafe mount I received through etsy.
Phone is at just the right angle and is my favorite iX accessory!
Appreciation to whoever envisioned & created these.

What year? Wonder if they updated for 2024?

Have any of you put an iPad or iPad mini on the stand? I was thinking about putting a Magsafe sticker on the back of the iPad and trying to put it on the MagSafe holder instead of putting the iPhone on it.

An iPad would be too big to fit on that MagSafe stand. Also you wouldn't be able to angle it to see the screen very well.

From time to time, on long trips, I use this to allow me (and my passengers of course), to use an iPad hands-free up front:

Ditto above - the stand is too short for an iPad. However, you could contact the seller on Etsy and I bet he could make a tall, angled version.
