Ain’t no free lunch with hybridisation. Batteries and motors weigh a lot.

I was fairly sure it was going to be hybrid. I could be wrong of course. I’m sure others will know but I recall hearing that was the case. Ie it was going to use the XM hybrid powertrain.

The kind of price a M5 CS Touring would come in at would put into the bracket of some epic all time cars. It would be like spending big on a special edition Omega when you could just get a Patek Phillipe for the same price

They could easily put it on the market for less than the XM red label and make it a few hundred lbs lighter. The XM is a "genuine M" craftship and the M5 is based on the mass produced G60, consequently much more efficient to source and assemble. Let it come!

I imagine the M5CS touring would be priced around $330-$360k. If the car is as good as the sedan version in 2021 but better because XDrive and the batteries, and if only a few hundred are built, I'm sure a few folks would consider it a fun option What else would there be to compete with it? The sedan did 0-100 in 2.9 seconds making the fastest sedan in history - the hybrid wagon would probably be testing factionally more, but what a good it's gonna be to drive one, and keep going on, and on, and on till you run out of roads
