Plus a used 991.1 was not as attractive to a 991.2 buyer but a used 991.2 will be fairly attractive to a 992 buyer, especially when you can get a 991.2 GT3 RS for below sticker now. A lot of people will question paying a huge markup on the 992 when they can get the 991.2 RS at a discount.

Personally I think the car has the right amount of incremental improvements to make it it a "new", objectively superior car but not enough to make me jump from a 991.2.
Will def see (but think initial cars will be up there in this area), but also expecting a pretty big jump in price.

Exactly...Final MSRP + options + ADM will likely start to price these very close to McLaren, Ferrari, Huracans in which case I would be strongly considering one of those options vs. agreeing to an ADM and/or making an upgrade from a 991.2 seem financially silly (not to everyone - plenty of folks with more money than they know what to do with).

Inversely, it may make the 991 look like a bargain and drive demand for those.

I believe we are going to see a 10-15% jump in price on the GT3. It will not only hold 991 prices but aligns with the way pricing on the 992 has gone across the range. The GT3 honestly was so cheap for what you got before. At 160K+ base it makes a lot more sense. And they’ll sell well at those prices too.
Also look at the big jump on GT4/Spyder prices...another leading indicator of where I think prices are going more on the GT side here vs 992.
Wrt Mclaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari they are still much more expensive cars (and some of them commanding ADM too; IE EVOs) so comparing MSRP + ADM isnt quite apples to apples. And generally speaking there are people who will buy a GT3 and have many of the others or people who won’t buy the others and exclusively want the GT3 so I don’t think pricing being close makes much impact.

Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing, i agree 100%, i just hope the replacement for 992 does not grow as the ole guys can get in and out of the Turbo S perfectly and it has all the luxury ever needed in a sports car

The next gen 992 3 and 2RSs will be spectacular.

2" longer and 1" wider than a M2 Comp. Yet almost a foot shorter than a M4. Want to talk about getting too big and fat, direct your attention to the F82 and the direction BMW is going with their M vehicles.

Yes, 992 is bigger than previous gens. But I wouldn't describe it as a substantially large vehicle.

Agreed on the latter, it’s still a small, light car by today’s standards. Most of the increase was in the new widebody. The new GT3 is the same width as the previous 991, and only 1 inch longer overall.

I actually love it. Like the 993, and 996 4s. Taste is subjective, I know. That's why we all love cars and love talking about them!

But yea, put a 997 or earlier gen next to a 992, and a 992 looks enormous

Really cool car, as all the GT3 are. I can't get down with the growing dimensions. It's an inch here "only an inch" and there - they are keep creeping up. Talking about the dimensions of an M2 as comparison for how it isn't that big is not all that convincing, being larger than a 2 series that has a full size backseat that is sitting on a platform not even designed as a sports car.. again, not convincing.

At one point Porsche had a modern GT3 RS under 3,000lbs curb weight. 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0. Not such a modern one.. 996 GT3 are also right there. For the money Porsche should be making GT cars that are not getting heavier. Mazda is managing to do it just fine with the Miata. Not making a direct comparison between a Miata and a GT3, stating that a manufacturer that is making relatively few sports cars can indeed manage to keep the dimensions and weight from ballooning.

Maybe if Porsche gets spun off from VAG it could happen. Pipe dreams! I'm also perfectly satisfied to keep my 997 and buy more of them if needed.

The 992 exterior is a modern 964. I love it too. Full light bar, squared off hood line, wide hips.

Love it all except for the hood. I guess it's just me--I think it would have looked better with a single, wide line like the CS hood. The two single slots are weird to me.

I too think it looks a bit off, but the engineering nerd in me loves that there's a true purpose behind it. I think it may look even more off in the touring version. Zee Germans.

Honestly, the slots in the hood could be in the form of a peen and I'd still buy the damn car.

thats kind of how the 991 is. except incorporated into the bumper

porsche should have done it more like the ferrari pista for the 992 though. but then you'd still have the catfish mouth bumper which is another problem i have with this gt3.

The pista design would kill all your frunk storage for no benefit. Even in a GT car, having a spot through a duffle bag is nice.

The new GT3 reminds me of the Mustang now, who did the reverse-inlet first in recent times. Maybe not even functional, but this showed up before the GT3.
