Incoming Call display

So my iPhone wirelessly connects via CarPlay perfectly fine.

When I receive an incoming call the caller's name and answer/end controls are displayed on the center console as well as on the HUD.

I always use the HUD and the steering wheel controls for accepting and ending calls.

Is there a way of stopping the main center display screen from displaying call details though??
Sometimes I have passengers in the car and may not want caller details to instantly pop up while I decide on whether to accept or decline the call....

I feel like there's a setting in idrive... Something to do with automate habits that gives you the option of limiting what's displayed on the screen if it detects a passenger.

I would imagine that wouldn't work for CarPlay, as it's an iDrive setting.

but we don't get calls directly to the BMW, correct? so you're thinking this setting applies to a phone connected via bluetooth only but not CarPlay (which also connects via bluetooth)? I'm not certain myself since I haven't enabled these privacy settings.

Correct, I'm assuming this is only for direct Bluetooth connection and not Android Auto/CarPlay, as in those cases it's the mobile interface that handles the call, not iDrive.

You'll need try it though.

probably the only way to stop it is to have do not disturb while driving enabled in your iphone, or enable it manually when you have passengers.
