Great race with a lot of things going on, I just have one question.

Has there been a car in F1 (modern era/recently) that has been in a significant accident such as the one Alonso had to then go on to finish so high in the points? He was a hair away from going completely airborne, hit the wall, lost a mirror, on and on and still finished high up. I've been watching F1 for nearly 30 years and can't ever remember a recovery like that after such a huge accident. Absolutely amazing.

As Verstappen already pocketed the WDC this year, some thought that he would cut the others some slack in Austin. He didn't: even an 11.1s pit stop setback helping Leclerc to pip him in the pit lane didn't stop him from also winning this race. An ace on track who takes no prisoners.

Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi: Verstappen still has 3 chances to also pocket the record of most wins ever in an F1 season. For the record: DNF in P1 in Bahrain during lap 54/57 (cf. Mercedes-AMG: "You love to see it." tweet) and DNF in P2 in Australia during lap 39/58.

The Alonso-Stroll crash happened during lap 22/56. Alonso finished P7. Personally I don't recall a driver making it to the finish after such an unintended 'wheelie' early in the race:

Luckily his car passed the gap/opening between the armcos, or it could have ended dramatically.

He was close to going airborne like Mark Webber did in Valencia 2010 after crashing into Kovalainen:

Right, that's what I was thinking! I can never remember after decades of watching an F1 race a driver coming back after such a wild incident to score meaningful points. Webber's crash instantly came to mind on this one as well, not to mention Kubica's horror crash at Canada!

Rare angle of that shunt for those who might not have seen it!

But let us not forget his private sponsors like JUMBO = + 5 Million . And the new MAX number 1 merchandise .

Jos had to hire 3 more people in the MAX VERSTAPPEN shop to deliver the 24/7 worldwide orders ..
In other words : The money flow is like the water in a waterfall !

MAX : I don't care about money or records ! I just want to race and win ...
What a great collection at the shop, as you say that merchandise must be selling like hot cakes. Wonder what Jos would say to my orange polo with 'Verstappen Drinks Orangeboom' writing on it

Wolff is again not realistic. MAX lost 8 seconds in total with 2 safety cars and about 9 sec. because of a failing wheelgun and still winning 5 sec. ahead. That is in total about 22 sec. and still dreaming about winning by Wolff and HAM !

it was so close but more likely wishful thinking for Merc's to win this race..

bad luck for Sainz but im not sure Russel deserved that penalty.. Alonso also.. i never liked Alonso that much but that was very late move i guess it was Stroll and 99 of 100 drivers wont hit the brakes for avoiding that very late move..

anyway well done to RB for achieving constructers also.. even if it was certain..

i hope we wont watch boring af race towards to the end..

Super Max just proving what an absolute monster he is.

The FIA giving Alonso 30 seconds for a LEGENDARY race without a single meatball flag and giving George Torpedo Russel 5 seconds is an absolute disgrace.

Vettel had an exceptional race that Aston Martin was determined to ruin.

I would have loved to see 3 of Dietrich's racers on the podium.

RIP to Dietrich Mateschitz, the definition of an alpha male. He took an energy drink company to Formula 1 and destroyed actual car manufacturers. The bulls are plastered all over every form of racing and sport worldwide. Dietrich kept F1 alive pre-DTS. Dietrich told Porsche to go f' themselves and passed away with the driver and construction championship of F1. Legend.
