HPF M3 Oil outside intake to turbo

I just picked up this HPF M3 and while cleaning the air filter I noticed oil in the intake. Is this amount of Oil bad, what is the easiest way to remove if not harmful. Also what is supposed to cover the air filter where the two empty screw holes are located.

Woah, cool car. I don’t know much about the HPF kits to know where the oil is coming from, never had a turbo car (yet). Leaking turbo seals?

Cleaning it shouldn’t be too hard. Just take off that carbon intake and you’ll probably be able to actually reach the turbo housing from under the car since it’s a bottom mount kit. Brake cleaner and a rag.

HPF is no longer in business so I imagine you’ll learn a lot by working on it yourself. Good luck.

Yea that’s how mine looks, even after a lot of modifications.

Not sure which “empty screw holes” you’re referring to. Near the coolant expansion tank?
