Why 333HP is as fast as 420HP???
I am just curious here beacsue i am just annoyed with automotive companies for making slow cars. How in hell is a 333HP M3 be as fast as the newer 420HP M3?
They both do 0-60mph in 4.6s. SO i don't get it. What the hell is going on, is engineering deteriorating or something? Just freaking annoying. A freaking old as hell camaro will do almost that time. So what is the whole point of the M in the M3 and all the hype when it can't even do sub 4??? |

Can't tell if you are trolling or not but let's assume you aren't.
First, the E92 M3 with 414hp is notably faster than the E46 M3 with 333hp. Your numbers are not correct. So your assertion that there is no difference in performance is just wrong... you need to check your info sources. Second, there are very few sub 4 sec cars out there and none (other than, maybe, a C63 with P31 package) in the M3s price range. If you are looking for a sub 4 sec car, the M3 is not for you and you are missing the point of the M3 entirely. |

Yep, shame on BMW. They should know that car buyers blindly make their decisions based on 0-60 times and absolutely nothing else. Just the other day I saw a Bentley Continental GT owner just straight up hand his keys over to a used Mustang owner in the parking lot, because the Mustang owner showed him a stained cutout motor trend page that showed the Mustang 0-60 was lower

I currently own an e92 M3 and a track-prep'd e46 M3. My e46 M3 weighs about 275 lb fewer than a stock e46 M3 and it has a 4.10 diff (plus a bunch of other mods) yet my e92 M3 is still faster than my e46 M3 in a straight line as well as on a racetrack. Like others have said please get your facts straight before you make uninformed statements. Also, good luck tracking down the hideous e46 M3 body kit and wing you are looking for because it's only going to make your car heavier and slower, assuming you even own an e46 M3.

E9x M3 0-60= 4.1-4.3 seconds.
E46 M3 0-60= 4.5-4.8 seconds. Yeah, that's totally close... So a stock E46 M3 on its best day is still .2 seconds slower than an E9x M3 on its worst day.

According to BMW
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...ical_data.html 0-60 of new BMW M3 Coupe with 420 HP (http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...engine/v8.html) is 4.6 (M DCT) and 4.8 (manual) Now can someone please tell me what was the 0-60 of the BMW M3 E46 ? Here is something to help you incase you feel lazy http://www.zeroto60times.com/BMW-Bim...mph-Times.html Now can someone be the judge here? What is the point of M3 is i supposedly don't get the point? |

Just so you know, there are no "official" 0-60 times. Each "source" who tests the car will publish their own results and things such as weather, altitude, tires, etc impact results. The only "official" time might be BMW's claim but everyone knows how accurate that is. Now, I have wasted enough of my time responding to this sillyness already. Thanks for coming out, you have clearly left this place better off than you found it

Per your OWN reference above... 2004 E46 M3 0 to 60 was 4.6s and the 2008 E9x M3 was 4.0s. So, the current M3 is 0.6s faster to 60 per your own source. That is substantial. NOW do YOU get it? It is time to stop trolling

LOL...more funny that i thought
well i knew you guys will ignore the BMW official time. And really the thing about it you guys all know what i am referring to. This is not the first time we see newer cars slower than previous cars, but for the purpose of deceiving yourselves you try to ignore that fact. But hey the real reason i started this thread was actually because i watch some video of some modded M3 to like 700+ HP and heard them say something like 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and i was like WTF! So again i checked BMW official time and i was flabbergasted as well, so you can really ignore all these. Also just so you guys know, the Nissan GTR is 530HP and 6 cylinder V6 and destroying several V10 cars with humongous HP...so tell me exactly what is going on. That exactly is what made me start the thread. And the thing about it is if BMW will brag and hype their M line they should at least stand up to the name with some crazy time...not some barely sub 5 second 0-60. A old camaro does that easy. Cars like Nissan GTR are what we need nowadays, without no hype but facts. |
