I'd like to see the screens integrated with classic displays rather than OLED panel everything.

Nice looking front end though. I dig it.

This looks like a pretty good offering for the segment, where Cadillac really falls apart is the service department experience, and it would be so easy for them to fix.
1. Have service loaners available, GM makes plenty of shitty Cadillac branded cars, and honestly I don't care if my loaner is another brand. Just make it easy like BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and Audi.
2. Wash the damn car before you return it.
Had an older XTS (2014 maybe?) even back then it had a fully digital gauge cluster, it was very nice during the day, but at night the crappy contrast level threw it off. You could see the glow from the black areas and just made it look meh. OLED should resolve this and in this case with the multiple screens would make it look like a single large screen. I think regular LCD would not look good in this setup.

That being said I LOVED the XTS. The ride was amazing while at the same time it did not feel like a boat. Felt quite sporty for its size, I'm guessing it had something to do with the mag ride. Interior, while not as nice as this, was very nice, everything leather, everything high quality and the sound system was amazing also. All that being said, thank god it was under warranty because that thing was at the dealer every other day for stupid shit. Dealer experience was top notch though, I was in and out in 5min with a brand new loaner to drive around even for a 30min fix.

When it comes to these large SUVs, it's same old same old. Side profiles stay pretty much the same, just overly aggressive front ends and largely similar rear ends.

But it you need something like this purely for its size, then your choices are going to be limited to vehicles that look like this.

They don't look good. They aren't elegant. But they get the job done.

Definitely looks like the Escalade hit a wall. No front overhang and too much overhang on the rear.

Still looks like they continue to facelift the same old body design so IMO it looks new and old at the same time.
Not good looking to my German sense of taste...

In regards to screens, it also looks like the have 3 screens instead of a single one. Why call it a 38" screen then?
The Mercedes S-Class has two screens behind a single glass but they still call it a dual 12.3" screen setup.

Just curious...

2. Really?! Man, my service guy knows not to send my car through the Scratch 'o Matic 6000. I honestly can't think of a crappier car wash than the one most dealers have. Most also have the same towels that they had when the place opened.

I laughed when we bought our last car and they offered lifetime detailing.

GM is finally beginning to show signs of automotive wisdom.

What I like in the 2021 Escalade:
- Independent rear suspension
- Optional audio system with 35 speakers
- Air suspension with magnetic ride control
- Interior

What I sense will be the reasons why BMW X5M (or X4MC) will wind up in my garage:
- GM dealer service experience
- First year reliability is likely to be subpar
- GM's aging 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque

Well the only reason I would think most people buy the Escalade over BMW or any German brand is the third row and overall space. While it technically competes with the X7 and GLS, realistically its one size class above those and even more so in LWB form.

The motor to spec is the 3.0L inline-6 diesel. Torquey, smooth and 33mpg on highway. Hidden gem in the GM truck lineup, although there is an up charge for it.

I don't know, I think its a dealer by dealer situtation. My BMW dealer is literally the WORST dealer I've ever been to. Complete cluster fuck every time I went there. Would take forever even when you have an appointment to drop off the car, they crashed my car once, broke trim and replaced it with one that didn't match at all and didn't tell me hoping I wouldn't notice. Their loaners were disgusting, they would always smell and be dirty, I had one that had snot or something spilled all over the dash, like WTF! Someone had to have literally driven this car out to me and seen this and been like not my problem.

On the other hand for the short time I owned an XTS the cadillac dealer was amazing. Night and day difference from BMW. In and out in 5min with a brand new clean loaner. They didn't give a shit when you brought it back, just overall great experience. I had great experience with Infiniti dealer also.

Now Chevy dealer, they suck, but honestly probably still better than BMW apart from they don't give you loaners. The Ford dealer where I take my truck is not bad either, just again no loaners usually.

Yes, I am in this dilemma and not sure what I am going to do. I like being in an SUV for daily driver, but don't really want to be in a suburban type length for daily. It feels dumb to get this as a third car while still having two other SUV's. I also have no real desire to own a sedan or sportier car anymore. I am probably just going to need to suck it up and drive this sized car as my daily driver, or I guess I could try selling one of my kids...

With four kids, it’s about getting the job done. I’d personally dump one of the SUVs and get a Sprinter instead.

4 kids changes the game, I have 3, so I have a couple more options.

My wife drives the ESV and doesn't want anything else/smaller, she ends up carpooling with other moms for dropoff and pick up.

The two reasons we chose the ESV (initially didn't want something so long) are, first with the third row up there is no room for a stroller or groceries in the back of the regular Escalade, and second there is very little third row crash protection behind the third row. If you are going to use the third row every time you drive that becomes important.

About a year ago I got myself excited about a sprinter, but the more I learned about them the less interested I became. It would be great for the kids, and it would be great 3 times a year, but if you had to drive it all the time it would be miserable, and the lack of power for driving in the mountains would make the driver (me) go insane.

The answer is minivan, always has been. people are too insecure to buy them. It's the best tool for the job by so far it's not funny.

If I needed a large SUV, this would probably be my first or second choice in this segment. Lots of room, and it finally appears to be refined to a level you would expect at this price point.

That's two screens. One smaller screen in front of another. Why not one large curved OLED panel instead for both the instrument clusters and infotainment screen?

How does one not look like rapper or a pimp driving one of these? At $100K+ you may need to be. It's starts at $76K and gets worse from there.
