I've always been intrigued about limited edition cars... and the CSL is truly one of a kind, especially since the E92 CSL is cancelled...

What do you guys think?

Edit:

You can do it... will cost probably around $10k for shipping, tax, customs, modification to meet standards, etc.

OP

Just curious, is it possible to buy a used CSL in the US? Does anyone have one? (yes I know it wasn't sold here... but someone must have imported one)

Or how can I buy one from europe? Are right-hand-drive cars allowed on US roads?
Answer to thread title: No.

emissions, what a crock of donkey poo... Logically, how many of these polluters are ever going to be driven around the us to affect the air we breathe... we all know that emissions is just another TAX, that's all... think about the so call emissions from lets say Almost all diesel powered engines and lets say... any older us gas guzzlers... I don't know but I am tired of being taxed to death...

True, you can register it as a show car. My dad had a '71 280SL Mercedes we imported from Europe which we entered in many shows throughout SoCal after its refurbishment. Even though it was not considered as much of a classic as say, a 300SL Gullwing, it still beat every classic Mercedes in Beverly Hills simply because it was European. It makes a difference in the long run and if you truly love the car and price is no concern, DO IT! You would be one of a couple, if not the only, person in the US with a real European CSL E46 M3!!!! Moreover, the resale value will award you a considerable check in the future because it would be one of a kind in the US. If it is still available, or if you still have the contact, or you have it and would like to resell it, please PM me. And no, fitting your car to be the same as the Euro CSL is not the same as a CSL, no matter how identical it may appear. VIN #s my friends, vin #s
