Garage List 2014 Mighty Freight ... [0.00]
2015 BMW i3 BEV [0.00] 2000 Audi TT Quattro [0.00] 1967 Formula Vee [0.00] |
Many commercial trucks are lined with E-Track tie-down raceways on the walls and floor for flexibly strapping down various loads, and there are all kinds of accessories that clip into the universal E-Tracks in addition to the usual truck cargo straps. The almost-mighty Freightliner came with E-Tracks, and my DW wanted to rip them all out because she didn't understand them. Anyway, I bought two of those spare tire retainers to hold my planned (removable) sink cabinet in place. When my DW saw one as I was unpacking the box, she thought that I had bought it as a toilet paper holder! TL;DR - I subsequently discovered that etrailer.com sells this E-Track vertical paper towel holder that looks a whole lot safer from a jousting perspective, that may or may not be on my Christmas list just because:

I bought a drafting chair (tall office chair) for the new workbench in my garage. The casters were so, um, enthusiastic that the chair would roll across the garage whenever I tried to sit in it. My brother called it the "Death Chair." So I bought these feet to replace the casters. Much improved.

A little project for over the Xmas break... hardwood flooring for the home theatre. I just finished loading it in the room to get it climatized.
Maybe I'll post some photos in the house projects thread later.

Logitech M720 mouse. Supposedly you can switch this between machines with just a button press. I'm hoping it works so I can control the Dell box that runs my camera software and then flip back to my laptop.

8+ year old desktop finally needs to be replaced. It just can't keep up with the audio and video production stuff I do.
Found a great deal on an open box PowerSpec at Microcenter. Not a gamer, so perfectly happy with a little lower end GPU. But it seems that gaming pcs have the best bang for the buck in meeting my audio/video needs these days. 12th Gen i7, GeForce RTX 3060Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe drive, liquid cooled.

Laser parking aid. Got sick of the lollipop reflectors. This one is tiny and sits on the garage door opener. Drive in until the line hits the edge of the dash. Done.

Mine is wired into the light socket of the opener. That way the laser turns on when the garage door opens and turns off when the light turns off after a few minutes. Right now it's using this chintzy looking light socket adapter. I don't need the light itself, so I'm going to replace that with a flush screw in socket. The kit comes with a sound activation module that is supposed to turn on when it hears the opener, but as far as we can tell, it's a POS and doesn't work at all. So we skipped it and just went with this setup.
