I purchased without ever driving one. I saw one at a car show prior to placing my order, but would have ordered sight unseen.
Definitely happy with the purchase. It lives up to the reviews for sure. |

Delivery in April 2016. Needless to say, bought it sight unseen...

To find corners that the M2 will like to play in, you've generally got to get out of the city. |

I ordered mine site unseen, and picked it up at the PC 4/21/16. I had a 228i with the M-sport suspension, which I liked, but I when I was offered my dealer's HEA car, I thought "50% more power, and M responsiveness? Sign me up!"
No regrets. Of the street-driven cars I've owned, if it's not my favorite, it's in the top three. |

My dealer called me when they got their first one in, so I had a chance to go and sit in it, start it up, etc. It was a customer car, though, so no test drive, but I didn't really care. Wasn't worried in the least that I wouldn't like it. I actually kinda wanted the first time I drove one to be mine. As it turns out I did PCD so I got to drive theirs first, but whatever, it was all the same day.

Only time I had seen one was at the Auto Show. I sat in a 2 series shortly after to get an idea of what it would be like and noticed how similar in proportions it was to my e46 (which I love) so that was enough to pull the trigger and place a deposit.
A year later, finally received the car and not a single regret. Much more than what I would have ever expected. |

For the M2 I figured the fit and feel wouldn't be that different than the 135i I had (which it is not). The dealer did have an M2 on the floor when I ordered so I was able to sit in it. They were not doing test drives, though, and it was DCT so test driving a manual wasn't happening. No regrets, though. Love the car. |

Robin, can you elaborate? Your comment makes me nervous as I have not driven the M2 and only drive Porsches. They are my go to, but I was getting this bc they say it is great...but if you have direct comparison to Porsches I could learn from you. What year/model? What is it specifically.... Thanks |

Saw it in person at the autoshow last year and at one local dealer. Both were LBB. No test drive and no access to the interior. Delivery expected in May.

Ordered mine sight unseen back in Dec after being on the wait list for about five months. It's currently on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic. Can't wait!

I had an M235i and pretty much knew I wanted an M2 from the moment they were announced. It was of course impossible to find one to test drive at a dealership. Then one day I got a call from a dealership I had bought a car from before offering me a free one-day BMW driving school at Thermal, California. My test drive turned out to be driving one on the track there. Sold! That was about eight months ago; it took a long time (and a great deal of luck) to find an allocation, but my M2 will arrive at the port near Los Angeles around April 7. Very, very grateful.

I can't find one in stock anywhere to test drive. Even if I could no dealership would let me test drive it, and I don't blame them.
I'm not a big BMW fan, except for a few models. I loved the E46 M3 and I absolutely love the 1 series. The 1M is probably one of my favorite cars of all time. So, while I'm not able to test drive one, it seems like it is the spiritual successor to those two vehicles I mentioned above. Is it possible I'll end up not loving the car? Maybe. Seems unlikely, though. |

I bought mine without ever test driving it. Just sat down in one of the m2's they had on the dealer showroom and decided to place my order. Now that it got here I am more than happy with my choice and I am glad that I bit the bullet. Loving the car so far except for the automatic rev matching on the downshifts.

I don't think I'll get back to Houston ever again. Left my company that was based there two months ago. Oh well, at least I got to see the Astros from the VIP seats, just behind the batter.

F87luv wants a 911 if I'm not mistaken. And I understand. But anyway: I've testdriven a few Boxsters/Caymans and Elfers(old 70s 2.2ones , 89 Carrera, (great)964RS, 964C4 and I wanted/testdrove a 997 Mk1 Carrera S back in 08 but bought an E90 M3 instead(wife kids). I'm more of a front engine rwd +lsd balance kind of guy, so I'm more than happy with my M2. Cheers Robin |

Having owned a 135is, and having driven the M235i and current M3 and M4, I put down a deposit on an M2 in 2015. My build allocation became available in March 2016. I had the pleasure of driving the M2 at Lime Rock Park in July during an M Track Days session, two weeks before scheduled PCD of my M2. Driving the M2 at Lime Rock confirmed my choice.
