Not enough for us to want to get rid of it, but if given the option, definitely go with the air suspension without a doubt. It’s a shame BMW removed the air suspension from being standard equipment on the iX 50.
I don't think air suspension was ever standard on iX xDrive50.

What's the stop sale for?

That's an old message from last year's stop sale. It cleared up back in Jan.

Quick question for air guys. Does it thud/bottom out when it hits a large pothole or a sharp road joint? My x5/7 with air used to the ix non air doesn't infact never bottomed out.

No I’ve never experienced that ever on the 2023 iX.

Thank you. In that case there is no real argument against not going air.

Is there an air tank somewhere taking up cargo space? Maybe under the floor in the trunk?

No, all the air suspension components are next to each wheel.

I think what you describe are janky aftermarket air suspension mods. A proper OEM implementation from the manufacturer would never be as you suggest.

The new Acura ZDX (based on the Lyriq) has air suspension and the tank fully consumes the hidden trunk storage space. Epic design fail, IMHO.

Though, it seems that GM is on a quest to lead the world in bad BEV leadership and engineering decision making.

I hope you meant to say ZDX.

We love the air suspension and would not want to drive without.

Isn't the ZDX just a rebranded BZ4? What a disaster!

No, the ZDX is built off of the new Chevrolet Blazer BEV platform in the same factory.

I had great hopes for it as a replacement for my wife’s Acura RDX but I can’t get over the ‘Hearse’ look of it with the black roof, which the ‘S’ spec has and it’s the one I would have been interested in due to it being the only version iirc with the advanced GM hands free Cruise function.

Thanks for clarifying. The ZDX built upon Ultium may have some legs.

Assuming GM has finally resolved the quality gremlins... I thought about a Lyric when I acquired the IX. That would have been a disaster based on a lot of youtube reviews I’ve seen. Perhaps GM has everything figured out ….but their track record suggests caution.

The ‘stop-sale’ on the initial batch of Blazer EVs due to poorly functional software was not making me more enthusiastic for the vehicle, that’s for sure!

I would avoid any BEV built on GM's Ultium platform for a while. They seem months to years away from solving all the problems. It is a big list. They deleted HD Radio from the Lyriq and and CarPlay from the rest of their BEV lineup. Those are bits I kinda like. They do not have HUD yet and no timeline. Same for Phone as a Key. Owners are battling a plethora of problems, like 12V system failures, headlight drooping failures, overzealous autobraking in reverse, windows that won't roll up, noisy HVAC, extremely loud pedestrian warning noise inside the car, AC vents cannot aim up, frequent system errors, inadequate AC in hot climates, etc. It's a hot mess.
