Thanks! Its an option on euro market cars, not sure why we don't get them here. Found the location measurements and made triple sure it went in the OEM spot

This really is an amazing color. It makes the car's lines stand out.
I have Frozen Pure Grey II on my M3 (I think it's similar?) and came from a Frozen Grey II Z4. Wouldn't change a thing if I had to do it again. Charles

Cefoskey Did you do a ceramic coating on your paint?
I think I'm 85% convinced I want Frozen Portimao Blue and am convinced the only way I could deal with it on a daily basis is if it was ceramic coated. I'm only PPFing the front clip and A pillars though. Not the whole car.

I'm torn between the frozen gray, brooklyn gray, and the zandvoort blue. These pics look awesome, I also want the cognac interior so cool to see this combo. Thanks for posting! I've heard the frozen colors require more 'maintenance' than traditional metallic paint. Any truth to that? Do you have to wash more frequently? Are rock chips more problematic? Scratches impossible to buff out? Anything care-wise to worry about?

They don’t require more frequent washes. You can’t buff the paint so scratches would mean a panel repaint. The frozen finish is durable.

The BMW website mentions that choosing one of the frozen colors could delay your delivery date, did you experience that?

that's a generic warning, shouldn't be any delay on the M2 as long as the factory is producing them which it has been since end of February. I swapped my order right after they put the frozen on the builder again in early Feb and my 4/22 production date never budged. Can't say for sure it won't delay your order, but there's no obvious reason for it to currently.

Ok, I just saw a frozen gray M2 in person and...wow. I'm smitten. The salesman said the only real difference is he would only hand wash it, and they can't do touchup paint so any big scratches would require the entire panel to be repainted. I already hand-wash only, so that's not big deal for me.
Others here have said the only way they would do a frozen color is with a wrap, I'd rather not deal with a wrap my plan would be to roll with it naked, perhaps a ceramic coating if they do that for matte paint. Is this insane? I've gotten rock chips on all my cars, it's just something that happens if you drive it, but am I in for a rude awakening if I don't wrap it? I'd love to hear from people who actually own a car with the frozen paint to get their perspectives. Thanks! |

Frozen is a tough finish, chips are inevitable but it's not like frozen is inherently fragile or something. I had the worst case scenario happen already, dump truck merged in front of me then hit a overpass and sprayed my non-PPF front end with gravel and stones at 60mph and there's no chips or marks, I cringed hard when it happened and assumed there would be chips when I got out to look. I haven't washed mine for 700 miles now and in general the majority of bug impacts are on the front bumper and mirror covers, I might PPF them soon cause they seem to catch the most flak on this car. I put TLG mudflaps on the front and they seem to be catching a lot of stuff that would've otherwise gone into the side, the sides are still very clean. |

Frozen not on Canadian G87 configurator
The Frozen colours are still not available on the Canadian configurator. Anybody know why?

Does having a frozen color prevent you from getting an aftermarket rear spoiler? I would think getting CF side skirts, splitter, and defuser would not be an issue but would taking off the OEM spoiler to put on the new one cause any issues to the paint? The more I see this freakin thread the more I am wanting to get this color and pay for the full body PPF...I hate you all
