Covid question ....

So, i'm pretty sure I have Covid. For the past 3 days have been coughing, hacking up thick nasties, and my head is completely full of crap. Wheezing noise in lungs, shortness of breath. Tons of sneezing, snots, etc..

I must have it even though the quick tests say otherwise.

I'm double vaxed and boosted and have the at home 15 minute test which i've taken twice now. It keeps coming up negative, but today I've lost all sense of smell. Meaning I cannot smell ANYTHING. It's so weird.

Anyone have this loss of smell ? How long does it last ?

Thanks in advance. I'm actually feeling better today. The day I lost all smell.

What is a PCR ? Is that something you have to do at Walgreens / CVS , etc ?

Highlight your question "what is PCR" then right click and search google. It's all right there. A car forum is a terrible place to ask for medical advice.

those quick test are not the best for the new variant.

My wife feel a bit sick , she does the test 3 times : negative
I did the test once : positive, and it took less than 5 min to appear, and I'm feeling great.

None of the less, I'm stuck home for 5 days

People aren't asking the cars, but the class of people that drive certain cars, and to that end I find Bimmerpost to be quite educated if you want to weed through the posts for the goods.

In my 4th day now. Feeling better. Not coughing as hard and my head seems to be clearing up as well. The loss of smell and taste is quite alarming, but I hear it will come back within a few weeks.

I lost my smell and taste when I had the Rona last summer. Even though I didn't eat for ten days, anything I drank had zero taste. I couldn't even taste the large clump of wasabi I put on my tongue. It did come back after two weeks.

+1 .

but not only for bad advice , but also people arguing against you.

My bro he's a doctor (surgeon specialized) , so my sister, and he used to give advice here and there on forums, without telling he's a doctor, and people were arguing.
He better get paid and having happy patient, than giving advice for free and getting shit.

Same for me, I use to give advice according to different code and standards ( building code, nfpa, csa, asme, etc) , but people were arguing about something black on white....

I was super sick back in the winter even had a 103.9 fever. The Dr was totally sure I had covid but the PCR came back negative. He said I still had it since no other illnesses existed at that time.

When I got covid, I lost my taste/smell for 6 months. Sometimes my body would tease me and let me smell/taste for a brief moment and then it would go back to nothing. It was awful. Everyone has a varying degree of loss of smell. Hopefully you get it back sooner than later.

Get well soon!

An acquaintance had COVID over a year ago and lost her sense of smell and taste. She still hasn't gotten it back. I heard from one of my co-workers who was at a party or something with her that she was getting wasted and didn't even realize it because she couldn't taste the alcohol. Some sort of mixed drink or something...crazy stuff

18 months for me. Food has no joy. And favorite adult beverages leave a weird after effect like testing a 9v battery on your tongue.
