M2 Size/Feel
I'm sure its been discussed, but since there are more "real-world" drivers of these cars, I'd like to ask again.
I drive an MY15 M3 lease and I'm strongly considering an M2 next. What does the community think about comfort/seating in the M2? I personally don't love the M3 seats. I find them tight and restrictive to my build, although they sure look purdyyy... I am hoping that although the materials are inferior (Dakota vs. Merino) leather, the seats in the M2 will be a bit more plush and the side bolsters wont dig in my thighs as badly. Ideally, I'd love to see for myself and test drive one, but these cars are supposedly all sold, according to my dealer. |

While we are on this topic, I'd trade my M2 seats for M4 seats if anyone is interested lol

I had the pleasure to do the 2 day M school so I have spent a fair amount of time jumping from the M2 to the M3 and M4. I prefer the ergonomics of the M2 as well as the driving dynamics. I didn't have a problem with the M3 or M4 ergonomics but I prefer the M2 seating position that is a little more upright. I have a fused back so ergonomics are essential to me. I have had the car since October 21st and have 9,300 miles on it and have never felt uncomfortable. For reference I am 6' 220 lbs. I would drive a M235 or M240 and you will know the seating position and ergonomics of the M2.

I'm 5'10" & 128lbs and am equally comfortable in the seats of my 2015 M3 and the M2 I test drove. My M3 had cloth seats though (huge mistake - puke stain from my son never came clean!), so the material of the M2 seats was an improvement for me.
M3 was certainly more spacious inside and felt a little more relaxing when loaded with the kids & luggage for road trips, but that same spaciousness made it feel bloated & unwieldy during spirited driving which is why I'm making the switch to the M2

The M2 seats are vastly superior to my e92 M3 seats!
It's been awhile - I cant compare them to my e46 M3 seats. LOL

There is no comparison (apart from the leather quality). And, it really has nothing to do with the seats per se. I come from the 4 series and have driven M4's (comparable to M3) and ergonomically, there is a sense of "oneness" (if that's a word) with an M2. You're fully immersed in the cockpit. Whereas with the M3/M4, the added space makes you feel like a passenger behind the drivers wheel.

I love the seats in my ///M2. They have plenty of adjustments to get that "unique fit" that most people are looking for. They are very comfortable, plenty of cushion, and can be made to "hug" you in all the right places if you're going to do some spirited driving.
They remind me a lot of the e39 ///M5 seats. |

Well we definitely come in all shapes and sizes so any answer is pretty subjective unless you go and drive it for yourself - that being said I find them comfortable and supportive but unlike you I really like the M4 seats so...
