Thought I'd share some pics on installing a JB+ on X2. It's pretty responsive now. I believe the stock engine is OK, but let down by the gearing and programming of the Aisin transmission. It seemed to miss a step now and then.
Only do this when the engine is cold and have the key fob out of the area.
- Undo the 10 mm nuts that hold the plastic plenum that directs air from the grill to the air filter box.
- It's hard to undo the gray tab that secures the connector by pulling down with your thumbnail. It's hard getting your hand down there at all. Instead, take a flat screwdriver, push on the tab downward along the same axis. Only gentle pressure so you don't stab yourself with the screwdriver.
- Install the JB+ in line, push the gray tabs in, make sure they're tight and reinstall plenum.
