I'm not very sure but it looks like the X5 40i has the tank forward of the fuel door and much lower while the 45e is slightly rear of the door and much higher based on the shapes of the filler pipes.
Also attached are two shots of the space during assembly and the filler pipe going into that space where the leak is coming from.
