Have they, really? They seem to have a few decent offerings, but just making the BRZ not suck as much isn't saying much.

I mean, the old Type R wasn't for everyone, it did look edgy and in some cases, pretty aggressive, but they managed to take a controversial design and make it hands down worse with the newest Civic. It seems a lot like they really are not trying hard and it's just the opposite.

I think back to the glory days of the 300ZX, 3000GT, old Supra, GC8 Sti, R32/34 and so forth. It seems more like they are making longshots and half-hearted attempts attempting to capture that past glory. Meanwhile, Hyundai is kicking ass with i30Ns and Veloster Ns.

I think the Japanese makers, more than most any other category, are prioritizing selling #s of cars, rather than catering to enthusiasts and models that keep people excited.
