Yeah, it amazes me how many people buy a Rolex Submariner, Horween work boots, Land Rover, etc...and then proceed to only wear/drive them to the mall with the worry of getting a single scratch. I guess it's because we've entered an era of
looking like adventurers, rather than being.
Whether it be a watch or a car, I long ago promised myself that I'd only buy them if used as intended, so I have no need for a beater car. My BMW (and Porsches before) goes into the mountains to go snowboarding, go camping, take gravel roads, get street parked, etc. I buy cars like this because I want something great to drive, whether it be 5 minutes to the grocery or an hour to Mt. Hood.
