Life-expectancy of stock E46 M3 shocks?

I have almost 95,000 miles on my original factory shocks which by most standards is pretty high. But I don't notice the ride being any harsher than before, it isn't wallowy, and the rebound seems good. But I'm also used to it. Most of my miles are highway. But to get to the highway, I drive through 10 miles of NYC streets, West Side Highway, etc.

Someone riding in the car the other day asked how old the shocks were. When I told them, they said they thought I was due. Their rides are an SUV and a TT so they're not used to the M3's harshness. But then again, I may be due. What do you think?

Thanks
