SOLD!

Up for sale is my Dinan-supercharged '05 E46 M3 with 83k miles. This is a 6-speed manual coupe equipped with the desirable Competition Package (ZCP), and it has the supercharger and a bunch of other Dinan goodies installed. I purchased the car around a year ago off the second owner, who had owned the car for 12 years, and have put a lot of work into it since then. This car is a ton of fun — it's an incredible backroads carver that you can also commute in every day. I've had five E46s, including two ZHPs and another M3, and the 428hp this car produces makes it the best by far. I'm selling because I recently purchased an NSX.

YES - the "big 3" (rod bearings, VANOS, and subframe) have all been addressed. The rod bearings were just done, the VANOS has been rebuilt, and the subframe's been reinforced.

OPTIONS ($60,045 MSRP):
- Carbon Black Metallic paint - $475
- black nappa leather
- Competition Package (upgraded CSL brakes, quicker CSL steering rack, M Track Mode, 19" Style 163M wheels, aluminum interior trim) - $4,000
- Premium Package (moonroof, power seats w/ driver memory, leather, BMW Assist) - $3,300
- navigation system - $1,800
- Cold Weather Package (heated front seats, headlight washers, ski bag) - $750
- Xenon headlights - $700
- Harman Kardon audio - $675
- rear PDC (parking sensors) - $350

HISTORY: This M3 has a late-2005 production date, and it is one of 1,209 6-speed manual Competition Package coupes produced for the US. It was originally sold by Open Road BMW in NJ, and the first owner had the Dinan parts installed by Pace BMW in NY. The second owner bought the car in 2008 with around 20k miles, right after the Dinan parts were installed. Carfax shows another owner from 2011 on, but that's simply because the second owner moved from CT to NJ. The car has never been in any accidents, but the hood was replaced in 2017 because the previous owner drove off without the hood being fully latched. Carfax shows a minor damage report because of this. There was also some paintwork done to the trunk because the previous owner's daughter "drew" on the paint with a rock; this is not on the Carfax. The work was done to a high standard. I purchased the car in March 2020 with 76k miles and have put on 7k miles since then. I had the front and rear bumpers repainted to correct for scuffs, and also had the front bumper reflectors shaved at the same time. The Carbon Black (really a very dark blue) paint looks black most of the time, but the blue pops in the sun. I have recent Carfax and AutoCheck reports that I can share.

CONDITION: On the exterior, the car is in great shape with some rock chips and wear commensurate with mileage, as well as one or two door dings that would come out with PDR. The car was garaged by the previous owner and has been garaged for much of my ownership as well; this is evident from the nice rubber seals that are often dried out on other M3s. The interior is in good shape as well; there is some wear on the driver's bolster, and the front a-pillar fabric is starting to separate. The steering wheel is leather instead of the Alcantara that ZCPs traditionally came with; I'm guessing the original owner complained about the wear and had it replaced under warranty. There are no dead pixels anywhere, as I replaced the nav screen with a new LCD. Everything in the car works aside from the CD changer and the GPS, but I never use them anyway. Overall, I would give the car an 8.5/10, but I tend to grade my own cars pretty harshly.

MODIFICATIONS: The main one is obviously the Dinan supercharger kit, which raises horsepower from 333hp to 428hp. As far as supercharger kits go, this one is very modest and provides a nice power bump without sacrificing drivability and reliability. My goal with this car was to keep everything clean and OEM+, which is reflected in the mod list below:
- Dinan supercharger
- Dinan throttle bodies
- Dinan camshafts
- Dinan Stage 6 software
- Dinan rear strut bar
- Dinan section 3 exhaust
- Dinan RTAB monoballs
- KW V2 coilovers
- spacers (18mm front, 10mm rear)
- CSL-style painted diffuser
- upgraded transmission mounts
- BMW Performance short shift kit
- OEM ZHP knob
- OEM Alcantara shift boot
- OEM 3.5mm aux retrofit
- LED front turn signal bulbs
- LED reverse bulbs
- OEM carpeted trunk mat (+ new floor mats)
- shaved reflectors in front bumper
- Storm Motorwerks metal head unit knobs
- radar detector pre-wiring (detector not included)

MAINTENANCE: The car will come with a thick stack of service records and receipts dating back to 2010. The car was just in for ACL rod bearings, an oil pan gasket, and engine mounts. The VANOS has been overhauled with Beisan parts (rebuilt solenoid, new sealing plate, new oil pump disk, new upper chain guide, and rattle repair kit). The subframe has been reinforced with AKG Motorsport plates, and I had the subframe bushings, ball joints, diff bushings, lower control arms, and diff seal done at the same time. The previous owner had the car serviced at Motor Works West, a BMW shop and Dinan dealer in NJ, under his ownership. Here's some other maintenance I've had done (see the link at the top of the ad for more info):
- valve cover gasket
- valve adjustment
- shifter rebuild
- oil level sensor
- 4-wheel alignment
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
- drive belt and supercharger belt
- two throttle position sensors
- starter
- battery

Asking SOLD! for this rare M3. The car will come with two keys, service records, history reports, a spare DME for inspection purposes, and some spare parts. Mileage may continue to increase slowly, as it's too much fun not to drive in nice weather. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

SOLD!
