It’s polarizing….which is the point. And while I’m not 100% bought in it’s clear why the designers felt like they needed to go in this direction.

Cars are about to become indistinguishable gigantic skateboards. The days of engineers pushing inline 6s to their brink and cranking out physics altering booming V8s are almost over. That differentiator is pretty much gone. Battery tech is going to even the playing field. And no amount of journalists marveling at how a Taycan ‘feels like a Porsche’ is going to change that.

Hyundai can crank out a 1000HP 0-60 in 3 seconds electric sports car without needing the hundreds of years of brand pedigree.

You’re looking at the differentiator right here. BMWs Visual design and engineering resources to push and pull and bend materials to their brink on full display. And technology sealesseLy integrated.

Apple is confident they can bring a car to the market for the exact reasons I stated above.

This is the future. If you don’t like it go buy a e92 or a e39. Or maybe grab a competitors car while you still can. Because soon they are all going to go in this direction.
