There is a forest/brush fire about 15 miles from my dad's cabin (AGAIN) and everybody's fire insurance got dropped last year.

Why did everyone's fire insurance get dropped, cause the risk was too high to be insured? What about the people with mortgages - the banks didnt require fire insurance anymore?
