Yeah there's no way losing a second income will qualify for unemployment.
If you lose a $100k a year job and are unable to find another one and must work at a Wendy's for $10 an hour, the government considers you to be no longer unemployed.
This is why the unemployment numbers are really meaningless, because so many people who lost their jobs previously are really considered underemployed now, but the government considers it as unemployment is improving even if you take a minimum wage job to replace your real job.
