Guaranteed it's been resprayed also.

It makes me feel better about paying 19k for mine.
Question regarding respray's..

Are they considered a negative thing? Or a plus
resprays to me are considered negatives.
but honestly it would ultimately depend on the finished product.
I've seen a LOT of cars covered in over spray, orange peel, bubbles, inconsistent depth, waves, color variance, etc etc.

a respray is rarely of the quality you get from the factory unless you spend major cash.

usually it's a clear indicator that the car was crashed and repaired... people repair their cars in their garage, have a friend spray it, and ta-da, clean Carfax.
Ahh, okay - thanks for clarifying!

It has been on the back of my mind lately because I was considering getting a full respray later down the road. In my case, (not to hype my own car up by any means) but my e46 is very mint and a proper respray would it get it close to being virtually flawless. But if potential buyers would find this a negative thing later down the road then maybe I just won't do it! Plus that would save me a few thousand any way haha.

The flaws in my paint are really only seen from very up close, no dents, just tiny chips in the front from 100k miles and being on the road.

Anyway, I completely understand now I think. If you can find the right place to do a re-spray as good as OEM without those defects imagine it is a benefit. But more than likely resprays aren't that great and the end result isn't as good so this could potentially hurt yourself later if not done right.
that last paragraph is my exact thoughts on it.
my cars paint is beyond fucked, the previous owner tailgated the shit out if every gravel truck on the road. it looks dirty, even when it's clean there are so many rock chips.

I would need to tear the car down to metal and have it redone. but that's going to cost probably $10k... maybe the very last thing I do to this thing before I die. lol
