I just went through the excercise, but was locked into a manual & convertible. I ultimately went the sensible approach and got a 2017 991.2 base cab, but the Aston tugged at my hearstrings more. I've heard horror stories about R8 maintenance costs from a friend who had one. The 911 is like the miata, its always the right choice.
