I had a clear bra installed today and also had the film applied to the carbon fiber mirror caps. As soon as I got on the freeway I heard the whistling noise from the driver's side mirror. The noise only appeared after the film was installed. A poster in another thread also had the wind noise and was able to eliminate it by trimming some of the film off the top of the mirror cap.

Apparently there is an official BMW service bulletin that addresses this exact problem but doesn't mention paint protection film. The BMW fix involves applying felt tape inside the mirror cap housing. I'm not sure if I should take the car to BMW for the service fix or if I should get the film installer to trim back some of the film from the top.
