Absolutely. That would be the smart thing to do, but BMW may think they’ll sell as many as they can crank out anyway.

The lunacy of this aspect of the infrastructure plan is the irony of how it will thwart the sales of the very vehicles they’re trying to push. Granted, many will still buy expensive BEV sedans, but there will be a finite number of buyers that were counting on the $7,500 and will now either drop out of the BEV market or buy a cheaper ICE vehicle.

Nobody ever accused Congress of being overly bright.
