E46 M3 WTB
I am looking to buy an E46 M3 Coupe. I intend to use it as a daily driver/weekend car/occasional track toy.

Here is what I am looking for:

Must haves
  • Coupe,
  • Clean Carfax (no accidents),
  • Clean Title in seller’s name,
  • Manual (strongly prefer factory manual but open to SMG conversion if receipts are available),
  • Must be able to be smogged and registered in California - I believe these were “50 state” cars when sold new so if the emissions systems have not been modified that should be a non-issue.

Nice to haves
  • Big 3 (Subframe, Rod Bearings, Vanos) done - very much would like the subframe reinforcement to be done with documented receipts; Rod bearings are less of an issue for 2004 onwards engines so some flexibility on that depending on year
  • Service records - I realize these are now 20-year old cars, likely with multiple owners so a “from new” service history may be unrealistic but good service records for at least the past 5 years +/- would be great
  • Competition package
  • Prefer cars currently located in California, Nevada, Oregon, or Arizona but will go beyond that region for the right car.

Things I am okay with
  • Track usage - as long as it is periodic (as opposed to a dedicated track car that has been converted back to street usage) and comes with commensurate, documented maintenance.
  • Mods that don’t drastically affect day-to-day drivability (I don’t want racing clutches, a very stiff suspension or a gutted interior)
  • Higher mileage - up to ~130K miles +/-, depending on service history
  • No color preference

I can make this an efficient, fair, hassle-free transaction. I plan to ask for a live video, copies of records, PPI, and in-person pickup.

Let me know what you have please.

Thanks in advance.
