It might, but the most sought after small Mercedes sedan ie the 190E 2.5 Evo seems to do just fine.
So yeah there might be a bump in resale but just like anything else these days, the performance will not be taking a back seat even with a 4 or 6 cylinder powerplant. I think that's most important for AMG customers.
