For all the complaints a lot of us enthusiasts have about the state of the car industry these days, it's honestly pretty cool that in a year or two you'll be able to choose between the new Nissan Z, the re-done 86/BRZ, and the Supra. Plus the Miata and the Porsche 718 are still out there as well.

That's a decent mix of driver oriented sports cars still on the market; all with recent releases and/or updates. Considering the love for SUVs, pick-ups, crossovers, electric, etc... by today's consumer, I'm pretty happy we'll have these choices.

I will likely buy one of them. Tentative leader's right now are the new BRZ/86 and the Z, if they can actually deliver on some meaningful performance and style updates plus get the pricing in a good ball park. I would love to move to a 718 but that still may be out of my price bracket unfortunately.

Bottom line, I'm looking forward to learning more about the new Z.
