I have both. And... I have not driven them back to back - the 1M is in storage (I hope, have not checked on it in a few weeks
. I think.. I think... the M2 is very very different. Steering for one is totally different - ride is too. You are correct, the 1M is more raw - but more than a bit. And... the nice things about the M2 (iDrive, controls, etc) - all the modern things make it such a nice daily driver. The 1M is a machine, the M2 is a modern day BMW.
